THE ORGANISATION

Accident compensation has a long history in New Zealand and Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), established in 1974, has continued to evolve ever since. In brief ACC helps prevent injuries and get New Zealanders and visitors back to everyday life if they have had an accident.

THE OPPORTUNITY

ACC is looking for an exceptional leader to join them as Deputy Chief Executive, Partnerships and Prevention. The Deputy Chief Executive, Partnerships & Prevention is responsible for providing leadership and direction on partnerships within the Health Sector, the wider Business communities, levy payers and within Injury Prevention. It leads the delivery of ACC’s Health Sector, Strategic Commissioning and Injury Prevention strategies and ensures a strong and cohesive focus on value based health outcomes. At the same time, it maintains financial sustainability of the scheme and supports equitable collection from levy payers through the strategic design and implementation of collection channels, levies and incentives, to increase the trust and confidence of New Zealanders.​

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have senior executive leadership experience in a key role within a large, complex health or related organisation, and significant experience in service commissioning and managing large scale service delivery teams. They will bring a sound understanding and demonstrated leadership of the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be an outstanding people leader with demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire and build high performing teams.

Capabilities such as an analytical mindset and an ability to synthesise and glean actionable insights from complex data sets will be important. What will set you apart as a leader will be your demonstrated skills in building strong strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across the sector, gathering insights, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities for the organisation, translating them into specific objectives and strategic priorities, combined with your system thinking and innovation capability and an ability to translate these concepts into measurable outcomes.

Accident compensation has a long history in New Zealand. The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) began in 1974 and has continued to evolve ever since.

At ACC, we help prevent injuries and get New Zealanders and visitors back to everyday life if they’ve had an accident. Our role is to make sure our clients get the right care at the right time while keeping levies fair and stable.

We use ACC levies to help pay for our clients’ support and recovery. All New Zealanders pay levies in different ways.
