THE OPPORTUNITY

West Moreton Health (WMH), a leading healthcare provider, delivers innovative, patient-focused services to one of Queensland's fastest-growing regions. As Director Financial Control, you will play a vital role in driving financial excellence, ensuring organisational sustainability, and supporting the health and wellbeing of over 350,000 residents in the West Moreton region. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this role will oversee critical financial management, compliance, and procurement functions, ensuring systems and processes are efficient, effective, and aligned to support future growth.

THE ROLE

This position is accountable for overseeing statutory financial reporting, capital accounting, treasury functions, and procurement activities. As the Director, you will lead month-end and year-end processes, provide expert financial advice to the WMH Executive and Board, and ensure full compliance with financial policies and external reporting standards. You will also champion procurement strategies aligned with Queensland Procurement Policy to deliver value-for-money outcomes and strategic objectives.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership in financial control within complex organisations, strong technical expertise in financial accounting, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. You will possess high-level communication skills to engage stakeholders, drive process improvements, and deliver actionable financial insights. CPA/ICAA qualifications and experience managing large budgets and teams will be highly regarded. A proven track record of reviewing and implementing sustainable financial system improvement initiatives at scale, in health will be highly regarded.
