THE OPPORTUNITY
Wild Bamboo, part of the Wise Group, are looking to appoint their next inspirational Chief Executive.
From the nucleus of a great idea many years ago and humble beginnings, today Wild Bamboo proudly supports community organisations the length and breadth of Aotearoa New Zealand in the mental health and addiction, supported employment, social housing, child and youth, domestic violence prevention, justice, wellbeing, and disability sectors.
Its hero product, Recordbase, is designed to capture sensitive service delivery data and make funder or auditor reporting seamless, enabling their customers to focus on what is most important to them, improving the wellbeing of the communities they serve.
Through Tūtohi, Wild Bamboo's pioneering data analysis and insights team, they also support providers to make the most of their data, enabling them to articulate and share their incredible mahi in supporting the most vulnerable populations in the community.
THE CANDIDATE
Critical to success will be experience in inspiring and leading a team of established leaders and technical experts, to help them reach their full potential. This will include experience with Software as a Service, software licencing and digital health products or services.
It goes with the territory that candidates will also be very experienced and confident in stakeholder relationship management and influence. This will include an ability to anticipate future trends, industry shifts, and emerging technologies with a strong capacity for strategic foresight.
Preferably applicants will also have knowledge and working experience in New Zealand's health, disability and social sectors, including the non government sector.

Role Specification
The Chief Executive will provide inspirational leadership to the Wild Bamboo team, who create and deliver smart digital systems to make it easier for health and social organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand to do what matters – support people in our community.
They will also assist the Board and the team in the development of plans and tactics that align with Wild Bamboo’s strategic direction. Importantly they will drive evaluation and reporting of progress, with an attentive eye across targets, delivery, and results.
Critical to success will be the Chief Executives ability to maintain great relationships with staff, key stakeholders, and the wider digital health sector and to play a part in thought leadership regarding the place of technology in the future state of care and support in the community.
Ultimately the Chief Executive will ensure Wild Bamboo continues to meet the needs of our diverse customers now, and in the future.
The ideal applicant will be an experienced and inspirational leader and have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar senior leadership role. Given Wild Bamboo's customer base they will preferably have knowledge and working experience in New Zealand's health, disability and social sectors. It It would also be advantageous to have experience working with or within the non-government sector.

- 2.Enabling people. Driving the engagement and motivation of others by understanding and addressing individual needs and aspirations, providing meaningful feedback and learning opportunities, and celebrating success.
- 3.Develop a cohesive leadership team. Create a team that is collectively responsible for delivering on our purpose and strategy. Use meetings effectively to prioritise project planning and delivery of our Top Challenges. Use regular debriefs as opportunities to learn and champion radical candour.
- 4.Teamwork. Helping to build an environment of teamwork and collaboration by providing support to others, valuing other's contributions, and personally contributing to the team's objectives.
- 5.Customer focus. Operating as a trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders, taking a long-term perspective on customer relationships. Going beyond expectations to meet customer needs in line with organisational priorities.
- 6.Judgement. Gathering and evaluating information from a broad range of sources on which to base decisions. Undertaking critical analysis to identify errors, key points and generate insights.
- 7.Provide the proper resources. Design the organisational structure, plan for appropriate resourcing and establish effective budgets keeping a proper balance of resources. All teams, groups and initiatives align to deliver on our ambitions.
- 8.Delivering results. Achieving goals and objectives through proactivity, determination and perseverance. Willingly embracing challenging targets and taking calculated risks and delivering on commitments.
The Chief Executive will demonstrate skill and knowledge in the following criteria:
- Experience in a senior leadership position with a breadth of commercial experience.
- Experience with SaaS, software licencing and digital health products or services.
- Ability to anticipate future trends, industry shifts, and emerging technologies with a strong capacity for strategic foresight.
- Effectively manage technical debt while preparing the organisation for the future.
- Experience inspiring and leading a team of established leaders and technical experts, to help them reach their full potential.
- Stakeholder relationship management and influence.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills and experience in large organisations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong networks and partnerships within the sector.
- Ability to work successfully with Māori as tangata whenua and diverse cultures and groups of people.

A competitive salary is offered, independently assessed and commensurate with the role size, plus a company car, 5 weeks annual leave, 2 paid wellbeing days per annum, 4% employer contribution to Kiwisaver, income protection insurance, school holiday programme assistance, a contribution to general health care alongwith a generous annual wellbeing and development fund

It will be incumbent on the incoming Chief Executive to keep Wild Bamboo on its current trajectory by paying very careful attention to our customer's needs, delivering on our current promise to them, and more broadly doing what's possible to support the community sector to evidence their worth in a constrained funding environment
The role is full time, Hamilton based and does include domestic travel from time to time to meet with customers and key stakeholders
